Arkansas Considers Regulatory Changes


Proposed changes to Arkansas state environmental regulations could benefit Arkansas waste districts that dispose of or recycle a high volume of waste tires.

The Arkansas Pollution Control (PC&E) and Ecology Commission is studying whether to give money to districts based, in part, on the number of tires they handle. PC & E is also considering other proposals to amend its current waste tire rules including increasing the number of tires that districts can store at collection centers, creating a system to monitor waste tires and increasing the waste tire fee from $1.50 per tire to $1.75.
