step stool with recycled rubber reinforced grips for use in the
health care industry and other related service applications. The
recycled rubber leg grips are fabricated from scrap tires and
provide stability and slip resistance in both indoor and outdoor

Rubber Nuggets
Rubber Nuggets, a division of Allen County Recyclers, Lima, Ohio,
has found a replacement for wood chips, sand, asphalt and gravel
surfaces. The 100% recycled rubber particles are made from rubber
baseboards and can be used for playground surfaces or plant beds.

Safe Guard Surfacing, St. James, NY has developed a pour-in-place
rubberized safety surface for playground cushioning and other
types of recreational surfaces. According to the company, Safe
Guard Surfacing is a blend of EPDM rubber granules and polyurethane
binder and can be installed over any properly prepared hard surface
including asphalt, concrete, wood, tile or brick, as well as over
loose material such as sand or gravel. The material is porous
and non-slip, the company said.

spike-proof walking surface that is lightweight, easy to install
and available in a variety of colors. The surfacing is available
in a tile format for use at golf courses, walkways and cart paths,
according to the manufacturer. Veplas also manufacturers recreational
mats which can be used for weight room floors, as well as for
a wide range of sport flooring possibilities.
